Vettel and Schumacher will team up in the 2022 Race of Champions.
Four-time champion Sebastian Vettel and new Haas boy Mick Schumacher will go after the German team in the 2022 Race of Champions taking place in Sweden on February 5-6, 2022.
The pair recently collaborated for the 2019 Race of Champions in Mexico, but this time they will be up against any appearance of Valtteri Bottas and Mika Hakkinen (Team Finland), nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb, the nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans Tom Kristensen and seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson.
“I’m really looking forward to competing in the Race Of Champions again and representing Germany together with Mick,” said Vettel. “In ROC Mexico, we got second place in the ROC Nations Cup, so our goal is to do better in Sweden.”
“Representing Germany together with Sebastian will surely be a lot of fun and obviously our goal is to win a trophy again,” added Schumacher. “We have to continue the success of the German team and fight for victory, and I am sure that we will both take it very seriously.
“The other teams, especially the Nordic teams, may have more ice driving experience, but we will try to make up for that with our motivation and resilience during the event days.
“Either way, I am really looking forward to meeting all the other drivers and spending time with them over the Race Of Champions weekend. The snow and ice promise to make this ROC event extremely special, and I am more than sure that the drivers will have a great time together in Sweden.”
The Nations Cup, a team event, takes place on February 5, 2022, while the Race Of Champions takes place the following day. The races will take place on a snow and ice circuit in the Swedish resort Pite Havsbad, using a variety of cars.
