‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’: What Brings Back Zoey’s Heart Songs in Season 2?

The NBC music drama series Zoey Special Playlist returned with season 2 on January 5, 2020. Zoey’s ability to hear what she sees “heart songs” is at the heart of the show. However, she hasn’t heard once when the season starts. So what brings back the songs of her heart?

‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ is about a woman who hears people singing their feelings

Zoey Special Playlist first released in January 2020. The show features Zoey Clarke, a coder at a San Francisco-based tech company. Because of her father’s brain condition, she takes extra care after she gets a headache and gets an MRI. But an earthquake through the scan gives her a very strange ability.

Suddenly, Zoey sees and hears the people around her doing song and dance numbers that no one else can. With the help of her neighbor, she discovers that what they are singing reflects their true feelings – sometimes the ones they don’t know they have. At one point in the season, her potential goes back, and Zoey sings her emotions.

She doesn’t like her power at first

Since Zoey is the only one who sees or hears these musical numbers, she is very upset. It doesn’t help that she’s someone who doesn’t listen to music or doesn’t know much about it. That’s where Mo (Alex Newell), Zoey’s construction manager, with whom she rarely worked, comes in.

Mo encourages Zoey to learn more about her abilities and to identify the heartfelt songs she hears and what they mean about herself and those around her. They become quick friends during the time they are together. Nonetheless, Zoey still finds her ability to be difficult at times.

In season 2 of ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’, Zoey hasn’t heard heartbreaking songs in weeks

The season’s premiere, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Return,” begins with Mo singing – for real. Zoey says her power seems to have waned after her father passed away in the last season weeks earlier. “I sincerely hope that these powers return before I lose interest in you,” replied Mo.

“But be honest. Let’s go. You miss them just a little bit, don’t you? ”Mo asks Zoey. But Zoey, still lamenting, agrees. “Honestly, the world has been upside down for so long. All I want is to feel normal, ”she replied. “So if my powers really go away, I usually feel relieved.”
