This week, Jeopardy! plans to broadcast his final moments with the longtime celebrity guest, Alex Trebek, who died on November 8th. Representatives of the show have been hiring guests to start the questionnaire board starting on January 11, starting with Jeopardy! Most of the time Ken Jennings won.
Jennings won the prestigious title in January 2020 against teammates James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter. Holzhauer won the moniker “Jeopardy James” after cleaning up the game’s show in April 2019, using a very unique strategy that earned him over $ 2 million. But the professional gambler is in no hurry to try his luck as a guest on the famous trivia tournament.
Continuing with the ‘Jeopardy! legacy
Trebek was his host Jeopardy! since the first syndicated release in 1984. While it’s hard for loyal fans to imagine the trivia game without Trebek at the helm, executive producer Mike Richards stressed the importance of holding the show in praise of the late master of the quiz.
“Alex believed in importance Jeopardy! and he always said he wanted the show to go ahead after him, ”Richards said in November 2020, according to NPR. “We will honor his legacy by taking forward the show he loved so much. ”
Jennings realizes he can never replace Trebek, but he intends to do justice to his guest role.
Holzhauer is clearly looking forward to the hilarious ban that the three trivia camps have mastered while competing.
“It will be fun to compete friendly with Ken and Brad,” Holzhauer told the Review Journal in November 2020. “And I’m sure they’ll let me hear if a team ever hits me.”
