Marvel star Paul Bettany never expected to WandaVision happen. The actor – like many fans – believed that his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was coming to an end. Avengers: Infinity War.
But at this point, it’s clear that nothing can happen in the MCU. And both Bettany and his bank manager were amazed by this unusual turn of events.
‘WandaVision’ is a love letter to ‘television golden age’
WandaVision begins level 4 of the MCU, and writer Jac Schaeffer describes the new Disney + series as “a love letter to the golden age of television.”
“We are honored and honored by these remarkable performances and those who have come before us, [but] we are also trying to blame new land, ”Schaeffer explained.
The new Marvel series on Disney + has “given everyone creative impetus at the studio,” says chief Kevin Feige. He explained that they were excited by “the idea that we could play in a new medium and throw the rules out the window in terms of structure and form.”
according to Weekly entertainment, it was Feige who came up with the idea for WandaVision. He is a professional nerd partner himself who enjoys starting his day by watching old TV shows because “he couldn’t take the news anymore.”
While watching classic sitcoms, Feige says he kept thinking about how influential these programs are on society, and on him personally.
“I was definitely using it as an escape from reality where things could be tied in a nice bow in 30 minutes,” Feige said.
The new Disney + series is a mix, just like Paul Bettany ‘s Vision
Directed by Matt Shakman WandaVision, who was a child actor on the Growing pains spinoff Just our Ten. Shakman, Schaeffer, and co-producer Mary Livanos worked together to bring it down WandaVision’s careless tone.
The new sitcom is very similar to one of its main characters. Vision is a combination of the clever Tony Stark JARVIS computer and the homicidal robot Ultron. Meanwhile, WandaVision is a mix of “epic superhero action with sitcom silliness in small towns.”
Livanos says it really feels like we are all programmed to get to know, love, and understand suburban family partners. So it has been interesting and fun to “explore with expectation. ”
The six-hour series with Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch) is inspired by a number of classic partners from the past 70 years. The show praises everything from medieval black-and-white campy sitcoms to contemporary classics. They were even filming one program in front of a live studio audience.
Paul Bettany surprised to find out about ‘WandaVision’
As Marvel fans know, Vision died twice inwards Avengers: Infinity War. After Thanos took the Mind Stone from the face of Vision, no one expected the character to reappear in the MCU. Not even Bettany herself. When Feige asked him about doing it WandaVision, Bettany thought the call was about “being brought in to be released.”
“I thought Kevin was doing the right thing and involving me, and him and [executive producer] Louis [D’Esposito] going to tell me, ‘It’ s been a great trip, and it ‘s over. ‘So it was a big surprise for me and my bank manager too, of course,’ said Bettany.
Despite being a professional actress for more than two decades, Bettany had never filmed a sitcom in front of a live audience. He and Olsen ran into the doors and doors, but they were both horrified when it was time to shoot in a live program. Fortunately, things went well.
“We were all so high by the end, we wanted to keep running the show,” Bettany said. “It might take him out for a walk or something. WandaVision on ice. ”
WandaVision premieres January 15 on Disney +.
