Over the years, Vikings has been full of interesting and controversial characters. In the final sections of the show, there is one character that is suddenly missing. Who are they and what do fans say about it?
One of their favorites never returned
Season 6B was first featured on Amazon Prime Video before returning to History, and fans were able to see the other 10 events at the same time if they chose. But no character ever returned. Rollo (Clive Standen) is the brother of the famous Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel). He is tempted from the first moment fans are introduced to him, and he gets worse before he gets what he ever wanted – power and fame.
In the early days, he does not always go with his brother, and he regrets being more famous and powerful than himself. Even on their first attack on England, Rollo insists that they will all be considered equal, but it seems from early on that Ragnar is hoping for bigger things. When Ragnar becomes an earl and then a king, Rollo’s bitterness grows.
In season 2, he works with Jarl Borg (Thorbjørn Harr) in a big battle against his brother. Although Ragnar wins with King Horik (Donal Logue), the damage is done, and Ragnar never trusts his brother again even after Rollo surrenders.
Rollo betrays Ragnar for the last time
In season 3, Rollo travels with the other Vikings to make his first successful attack on Paris. But when most of the heroes leave to return home, Rollo offers to stay behind in the winter camp, as they return to plunder again. Ragnar is badly injured at the moment, and he can’t stop it. When they leave, Rollo makes a pact with Emperor Charles (Bluteau Fleet) to help him defend against the next Viking invasion. In exchange, he marries Charles’ daughter, Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski). With his new comfortable life as Duke, Rollo helps lead the next Viking invasion, and he gets the land of Normandy to rule over with his wife. Along with Gisla, they have three children.
Although Rollo sees some of Ragnar’s sons again, he never sees his brother after fighting on the other side for Paris. The last fans to see or hear about, Rollo sends troops to support Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) in winning Kattegat back from Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick ).
Afterwards, Rollo returns to his old home to ask Lagertha and Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) to return with him to Frankia, but they decline even after Rollo tells Bjorn that he is a real father which is. However, Lagertha denies the allegations, and Bjorn doesn’t seem too sure either.
Many fans thought Rollo would return before the series ended, but that is not happening. He is originally from Kattegat, and would do well to return there. He might even come to England somehow in different situations.
Fans get pressure in without Rollo
Rollo viewers have not seen since season 5B. Some fans talked about the situation going forward recently Reddit where Rollo’s absence is at the heart of the work.
“Am I the only one who wanted to see this man?” asked a fan on Reddit. “So while I enjoyed the ending and it was all very well wrapped up, would I be the only one who would like to see a cameo scene from Rollo? With everyone gone, wonder if Ingrid was sitting on the throne that suddenly appeared and does it end there for that part of the story? ”
Another fan wishes viewers would see it again before things are wrapped up. It would have been interesting to see his children and what has happened in Normandy before the final decision.
“I wish we could see him one last time too,” agreed a fan. They added: “It would have been great to see his sons, they would have been older because of the time jumpers. ”
One fan thinks Rollo was the “one character” they “felt needed,” while others certainly agree. “You’re not the only one,” said the fan. “It was the only character I felt was needed to set up the show for good, feeling empty. ”
However, not everyone agrees. A fan no longer thinks Rollo served a “purpose”. Not to mention all the people he knew in Kattegat are now dead, so the viewer doesn’t think Rollo’s presence would have added anything.
“Nah, Rollo still didn’t make any reason to be in the story,” they explained. “He already said he had no regrets about turning on them and that he had more than enough land to control. Coming back to the place where everyone knew he was dead they would have done nothing to bring that story to fruition. ”
While another follower makes the point: “Who was left to betray him? ”Regarding Rollo.
While Rollo will never return to the series after season 5B, event fans can return to remember the good times with Rollo in. Vikings.
