What will happen to Hvitserk in season 6B of ‘Vikings’?
After Hvitserk accidentally killed Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), the king’s brother, Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), allowed him to survive. Hvitserk then meets his other brother, Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen), who has linked up with Russia. He decides to stay with Ivar, and is with him when the Russians invade their native Scandinavia. But they may have won the first wave of fighting, but before the second battle, the Russians are sent to pack after Bjorn, who was stabbed by what looks like Ivar (even though he’s the somewhere else entirely at the time), to create a plan to save its people. Bjorn sends a rumor to Russia that he is already dead, and when he rides out to meet them, he frightens Russian forces. Bjorn is stabbed with three arrows and still unsheaths his sword. His soldiers, who answered his call, win the battle against their enemies, but Bjorn dies in the process.
Hvitserk will return to Kyiv with Ivar the case, but there is one more thing that needs to be done. The brothers help Price Dir (Lenn Kudrjawizki) and Igor (Oran Glynn O’Donovan) overthrow Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky). Igor ends up killing him when Ivar confronts him. When that was over, they decided to return to Kattegat, and finally to Wessex to fight King Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) once again. Fans get a handle on some amazing footage of both fighting sides, and Hvitserk proves himself in battle.
However, Ivar dies in a battle against Alfred in a strange turn of events. He doesn’t try to stop his death, and he stands there when a Wessex soldier stabs him again, even saying to him, “Don’t be afraid. Hvitserk sees his brother’s death after Ivar convince him to leave the fight. It is a difficult time for Hvitserk to be a witness, and he mourns his brother dearly. Ivar is buried and Hvitserk says goodbye. But he chooses to convert to Christianity at the end of the final episode and stay in Wessex when the series ends. It is an unexpected end for Ragnar’s son.
