‘Ty Breaker’ Host Ty Pennington Reacts to ‘Love It or List It’ Comparison — ‘I Get Up Close and Personal’

There are dozens of home upgrade shows out there mostly because HGTV viewers can’t get enough of them. There is something so satisfying about watching others transform old places into wonderful examples of home design. The new series Breaker Ty on HGTV as an exception.

With so many options, it seems like some shows are similar. But listening to the basics of Breaker Ty making some fans wonder if it’s a direct copy of the main HGTV site, Love it or make a list of it. Host Ty Pennington recently explained Insider Tbh just how his new Discovery series differs from the original concept.

‘Ty Breaker’ involves some friendly competition

The official description for Breaker Ty says the show is all about helping homeowners make the big life decisions.

“With the help of other designers, Ty Pennington will be helping controversial homeowners decide whether to renovate or refurbish their existing home on a building between different according to their needs, ”the description reads. During the series, the last one Extreme Renaissance: Home Editing there will be several designers against the guest, including Alison Victoria, Sabrina Soto, and Grace Mitchell.

Pennington’s goal is to convince the show’s participants to stay in their usual home. At the same time, the other designers will work on the opposite goal, hoping to convince them to move into a new custom home instead. No wonder viewers are getting special Love it or make a list of it vibes.

With 15 seasons and more than 150 programs since its first release in 2008, it is safe to say that Love it or make a list of it one of the most iconic displays on the network. The series follows real estate expert David Visentin and designer Hilary Farr as they compete to get homeowners listening to their advice.

Farr renovates their home trying to get homeowners to stay while Visentin seeks properties for sale, hoping it can force them to move. The two engage in a friendly party as they try to “win”. ”

But Pennington says there is at least one difference between his new show and the original show.

During an interview with Insider Tbh, guest of the new HGTV series has found out what set it up Breaker Ty from each other.

“I was never thought of as anything else. The idea that people need to decide if they are going to live in their current place or move to another place, ”he replied when asked if his show was similar. Love it or make a list of it.

He continued, “Everybody goes through that. It is the truth of life. I just try to make it more interesting. I live with the family a bit and get to know them properly and why they have particular problems with their house. Whether that’s brushing my teeth with the whole family or camping in their backyard or taking a shower in their private shower. ”

Pennington maintains that digging deeper makes his show unique. “We say I grow up close and personal with the families we help,” he said. “Just because I think that’s the best way to understand what needs to change but you also get to understand who they are. They understand you too. It adds fun to the show. Let’s say there’s no private place that I won’t really dive into their situation. “
