Mowry-Housley announced her departure in July – weeks after multi-hyphenate Amanda Seales revealed she would be leaving the show after just six months. The actor announced the news in a statement on Instagram, stating a desire to start “spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities, and starting the next chapter of my life.”
Rejecting rumors that she had been left with a pay cut, Mowry-Housley said on Instagram: “I’ve been on” The Real “for six / seven years. I’m just ready to try new opportunities and spend more time with my family, that’s it. I’m making a Hallmark movie. There are new opportunities just coming out of nowhere and I’m just grateful, thankful. ”
