While there are plenty of Jim and Pam sweet moments through the nine seasons of The Office, the scene where Pam finally gets to read the teapot card certainly stands out to fans. Both Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski (who play Pam and Jim) were very emotional in the scene, but Fischer ‘s raw feelings stand out. And it turned out that there is a really good reason for that.
Fans of The Office I will remember that the teapot card first appeared in Season 2’s “Christmas Party” program. When Jim finds Pam in Secret Santa, he gives her a teapot. Going a step further, he also fills the teapot full of inner humor, calling them “bonus gifts.” Finally, he adds a card, sharing that the holidays are a time to let people know how you feel. Fans were desperate to find out what was in the card but, at the last minute, Jim steals the card back, keeping the audience under suspicion.
Fans of ‘The Office’ love the program where Pam finally reads Jim’s teapot letter
It would take another seven seasons before the teapot card made another look. In the last program of The Office, “AARM”, Pam admitted that she doesn’t feel she has enough for Jim. To prove her wrong, Jim enlists the documentary team to make a video of their relationship and also gives her the teapot card. Reading it, Pam is moved to tears and seems to be starting to get over her insecurity about being enough for Jim.
Fischer didn’t see Jim and Pam’s video montage until the camera was on
But writing a true letter was not the only thing Krasinski did to add to Fischer ‘s sentiment. He also helped watch the video for Pam and made sure Fischer didn’t see it until the camera was on. “John contributed a bit with the video and didn’t want Jenna to see it until we saw the scene,” Rogers said. “It simply came to our notice then. We played the video with music and only filmed the scene a few times since the feeling from the video and Jim’s teapot card was there from the beginning. ”
The teapot letter remains a mystery among the spies of ‘The Office’
It’s sweet that Krasinski went out of his way to make such a beautiful move for Fischer. Clearly, Fischer’s feeling played beautifully in the scene as well. And while we’re sure there are fans of it The Office still dying to find out exactly what the teapot letter says, we are so fond of it that it is a private secret between the actors.
