‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’: How Season 2 Differs From ‘The Haunting of Hill House’

“Victoria and I talked at the beginning about how you could differentiate this character from Nell,” Flanagan explained. “Nell was a character who was carrying around a ton of darkness with her and she didn’t get out of the reflections that were brought in when we see her as a child.”

But with Manor Bly, everything is brighter – including Pedretti ‘s role. “Between the situation in the ’80s, and this idea of ​​a young American abroad, just out on an adventure,” Flanagan explained. “It clarified everything, first.” That clarity gave Pedretti more room to separate Dani from her previous role as Nell, or the “Bent-Neck Lady. ”
