In the second season of The Elements of the Family, the time has finally come for Chantel Everett to graduate. She’s been working hard in nursing school, and this week, she’s working walking across the stage, only to find out that she can’t actually graduate. It is an awful time for her, and one thing she will always remember.
Chantel Everett prepares to graduate from nursing school and get a job interview
Chantel has worked hard at school, and with only one final test left to go, the future looks bright. This week, Chantel talks to her mother, Karen, about what is planned for graduation. She even goes in for a job interview in a plastic surgeon’s office. She talks to her interviewer Dr Myla Bennett, who says she has an “interest” in Chantel, so things seem to be going. Will she get the job? We have to wait and see.
Why Chantel couldn’t graduate yet
However, Chantel’s hopes for graduation have diminished sharply. She comes home, clearly upset. She tells her husband, Pedro Jimeno, that she has “good and bad news.”
“The good news is that I passed all my classes,” Chantel says. “The bad news is that I can’t graduate. My test average is three points. ”
“This is what happened,” Chantel said. “I took my test, right after I walked across the stage, they gave me these,” she says as she shows off her sash. “And then they raised the standards, and they told me I need to apply again until the next semester. I can’t graduate. “
Pedro is upset about how Chantel can get past the class, but her last test failed. “You think nursing school is like undergraduate classes,” Chantel tells her husband. “No. If I was in any other degree program, I would walk.”
Pedro admits he is not ‘proud’ of Chantel
Chantel thought she was graduating now, but it didn’t turn out that way. “I know you’re not proud of me right now,” she told Pedro.
“I’m not proud of you right now,” admits Pedro.
“And you don’t, but I have to be proud of you no matter what,” she continues. “Whatever Pedro. My friends, they are still proud of me. They support me, and they know what this means. And you should be out of anyone what this hurts me right now. ”
Pedro says he supports her “more than” her family. But she tells him that he is not giving her what she needs. She starts to cry, and is clearly upset about the whole thing.
“I feel disappointed with you because I believe you will do your best,” Pedro says. “You are going to finish school this year. And now for my part I have to wait too. “
Pedro wants to go to school and leave his career in a warehouse, but now he has to wait another semester to pass Chantel to finish school before he can start.
It’s a tough time for both of them, but they have to push each other to make it through with the unexpected climb in their plans.
