Phylicia Rashad has inspired many people in her career. Like Clair Huxtable, she was kind of everyone’s mother Cosby Show. She has done more on stage and taken the Rocky saga inspiration to the next level enter Credit. Now, she’s giving a voice in the inspirational film Pixar Anam, though not the most inspiring character.
Rashad was part of the Anam press conference, when the Cosby Show a star shared one of her most exciting moments from a young age. Anam now playing on Disney +.
Long before The Cosby Show, Phylicia Rashad found her acting inspiration at the age of 11
Rashad began to honor her craft at a young age. When she was 11, she experienced some of the problems in theater. By embracing these challenges she made a good living.
“When I was 11 years old and when I stood in my mind, I saw nothing but light,” Rashad said. “I kept a script of everything I was supposed to say, but because I was so used to it, I knew in my heart. So I talked to the light all night. ”
The moment of inspiration came after the play
Rashad would not see the response of the audience to which she was performing. However, she got all the feedback she needed after the show.
“Mothers came to gather their children,” Rashad said. “This was a great program we were getting in the primary schools in Houston. And I heard one of them say, ‘That’s it, the little girl is there to speak so beautifully. Isn’t she beautiful? ‘”
It is easy to understand why Rashad carries that moment to this day.
“Just because you’re pushing someone to follow their dreams, that doesn’t mean you’re not giving a gut scan,” Rashad said. “Sometimes that’s a gut test too. Because people have dreams and desires that they might be a little nice about, just because they are not used to following their inner motivation. Listening to themselves for real. And sometimes, that’s a real gut exam, to tell someone to follow that dream. To ask them to be bold enough to believe in him. ”
