Through 11 seasons of Showtime Television series, Shameless, the characters suffer injuries almost every season. The writers accounted for most of the injuries due to abusive family dissatisfaction and the story of the characters. However, two injuries occurred in real life, and the writers were forced to resort Shamelessand the fairy tale.
Season 3 ‘Shameless’: Kevin Ball’ s broken leg has happened in real life
In season 3 of Shameless, Kevin Ball (Steve Howey) breaks his leg as part of Veronica (Shanola Hampton) sexcapade in the bathtub. There is little mention of him in the series, so some fans were upset when Kevin’s leg was in the team the entire third season. In fact, the actor admitted to fans on Twitter that he had broken his Achilles tendon.
He also gave more details about his injury in an interview with Men’s Magazine.
“I used to drink almost every day and work out every day too,” Howey told the rebel. “I can’t do that anymore; it’s just impossible. Even just working out every day is hard because my body can’t recover; it hurts. Proper warming helps me a lot. That’s how I injured myself recently. I jumped into a basketball game before I was done and grabbed my Achilles tendon. Now I have to throw on my leg for the entire third season of Shameless. So that was also a reminder of ‘Hey, you’re getting older. You can’t do that shy. ”
Since Kevin couldn’t do everything he normally does on the show, the writers had to improvise.
In season 5 ‘shameless’, Carl broke his leg in real life
When Shameless Season 5 opens, fans find out that Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) was “lifting his finger” on the skateboard. He goes around his luggage and then decides to turn a wheelchair to make his life more comfortable. The actor told fans what happened in real life in a tweet.
“Broke leg = true,” Cutkosky tweet. “First, Carl should have come up on a skateboard in view of the demolition.”
Fans got a little more detail on the daily event when Emmy Rossum (Fiona Gallagher) held a question and answer session on Reddit for fans.
“Carl has a broken leg because the actor, Ethan, who plays Carl, broke his leg in real life, while dancing at a party (or so he told us),” he said. Rossum to fans. “How do you break your leg dance? ” she said.
Ethan loved to skate on board in real life
Ethan was 12 when he joined the Shameless team, and remembers skating on board during the lottery in Los Angeles, California.
“I know skating very well, and I remember skating through the lottery, and skating is not allowed on the lottery,” he told CBS. “It was always just a lot of trial and error. My father and I became very close. We would come out here [California] and get the job done and then return home. I was not worried about being taken back; I was worried when my friends and I were going to hang out. ”
So it was that skating scene that he was going to film because it was super skating at the time. Instead, the writers introduced a different everyday life happening in Ethan’s life – a broken leg.
