‘RHOA’: How Kandi Burruss Feels About Cynthia Bailey’s Insistence To Keep Her Wedding Date Despite a Global Pandemic

Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill’s 250 guest wedding in the middle of COVID-19 caused a huge uproar for fans. In addition, the couple had tension when planning at ever-changing times. Throughout, the RHOA a star asked her to have her dream wedding.

In a recent interview, her co-star Kandi Burruss says she understands why Bailey wanted to have her big day.

Cynthia Bailey says her 250-guest wedding followed all COVID-19 safety warnings

Bailey has set the standard with how to plan a wedding in the midst of a pandemic. Her wedding to Hill on October 10, 2020 had 250 guests but the couple spent a prime bucket on making sure they complied with all COVID safety warnings.

Page six states that all guests must have temperature checks. They were also asked to wash their hands before entering the wedding. Masks, face shields, and a hand sanitizer were available at the event.

“We had people walking around encouraging people to put on the mask when they took it off because it was clear they had to take it off to eat and drink,” Bailey told the publication. “We had to wait for one or two people about that. But for the most part, a lot of people left right after the ceremony, which was really good because that took that pressure off. ”

Hill and Bailey’s season 13 storyline focuses on wedding design. Unlike most bridesmaids and groomsmen, the couple had to worry about limiting guests due to the continued spread of a deadly virus.

While Bailey was willing to move on with a big wedding on their “perfect date,” Hill was more rational and kept the open view that a smaller wedding was impossible… or no event at all.

Hill said he would marry Bailey with or without the bells and whistles but Bailey was not so sure. This led to a battle to keep or change their original date. Bailey was open to change if she could not have the wedding of her dreams.

In a recent interview with Shade and Act, Bailey opened up about why her dream wedding was so important. She told the publication:

“I wanted to have a big wedding with all our favorites out there because I wished happily ever after, I wanted to go over from my first wedding. My first wedding was full of stress and drama, ”Bailey recalled. “So this time, I just didn’t want a bit in the driveway. I was like, ‘I deserve this,’ and we’ll try. And if I can’t have it – if everything we put in isn’t enough, then we’ll talk about it. But can we just try?

Bailey captured spectators for marrying 250 in the midst of a global pandemic. Watching the series and seeing the tension between Bailey and Hill even more people watched Bailey’s side over her choice to move on with a big wedding despite what Hill did.

Burruss says she understands Hill ‘s difficulties but also why Bailey felt so strongly about dreaming.

“I found out where Mike was coming from but at the same time I understood where Cynthia was coming from,” Burruss said in a recent interview on Watch what’s happening live. “This is her big day. She will never do it again. This is, hopefully, the last marriage she’ll ever have, so she really wants that moment. Even though I found out the way it was, ‘do you want to marry me or not?’ ”

Things went well for Bailey and she recently revealed that none of her attendants were testing positive for COVID-19.
