NCIS season 18 was barely started before it was time for the final round to fall. Just three events in the season, CBS’s approach took a break and revealed that they would not be back with new events until January.
There is good news though. When NCIS returning in the new year, the network has revealed that they will be bringing back another favorite.
The pandemic prompted ‘NCIS’ to redesign season 18
Fans will remember when the pandemic struck back in March, that a team and a team of NCIS he was still four events away from finishing production on season 17. As Cinema Mix notes, this forced them to stop their various stories early instead of closing their season with a traditional ending.
The absence of these last four events also affected season 18. The creative team decided to redesign at the start of the season, which led to a cold opening that had a time stamp in March 2020.
Then, they quickly jumped back in time to November 2019 to revisit an old story. They have yet to provide answers as to why Gibbs (Mark Harmon) fired McGee (Sean Murray) in the season opener.
However, that is likely to change after the six-week holiday. According to the network summary for times 4 and 5, responses are likely to come soon.
The mid-season premiere will be a two-episode event with one of their favorites returning
according to Digital spy, the fourth program of NCIS Season 18 will be called “sunburn.” And the summary states that Margo Harshman will return as McGee’s wife, Delilah.
“The holiday of Bahamian McGee and his wife Delilah turns into a high-profile mission when an NCIS-facing case of a dead escape room manager is linked to the island,” the summary states. reading. “Also, Gibbs is scared when he searches for Fornell’s blood. ”
Again, this program seems to jump back in time as McGee is unlikely to suffer any gunshot wounds while on vacation with his wife. However, their holiday is unlikely to be peaceful.
The second program of the evening is entitled “The Head of the Snake.” And the description of that section shows that fans could start getting answers about the cold season 18 open.
“Gibbs and Fornell are at the crossroads to end the drug ring that is responsible for the overdose of Fornell’s daughter, Emily,” program 5 reads. “Also, Gibbs and Vance finally let the team in on an issue that has a dangerous impact.”
Will the final 5 program explain the cold open ‘NCIS’ 18 season?
Many immediately questioned what that might mean in the phrase “dangerous influence” in the summary. Theoretically, every case in which the NCIS team works has a “dangerous effect”. What makes this so different? Could this be an idea of why Gibbs was in sniper mode and trying to take McGee down?
The case that Gibbs and Vance bring to the team must be a much bigger threat than they face each week. If not, why would they say the danger in the description of the section? It is quite possible that this program puts forward things that will finally bring the events into view in the opening scene of the season.
Many are unsure whether Gibbs and McGee are in conflict. Some have shared the theory that Gibbs is trying to deceive someone by shooting his longtime friend and colleague. Others think there were a few editing tricks at the scene. The theory is that Gibbs fired at the man who shot McGee.
Photos from program 5 show Gibbs and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) at the same airport since the cold opening of the season. Gibbs also wears the same outfit. It seems like the right time for fans to finally find out what’s going on.
NCIS he will return to CBS with two new programs on Tuesday, January 19th.
