‘NCIS’ Executive Producer on What Would Lead to Ziva Returning…Again

Cote de Pablo returned NCIS in the final episodes of season 16 and appearing in a handful of season 17 events. The character got the last arc she ever got, connecting the loose ends of the dynamics with various co-producers . She and Gibbs said goodbye to their characters, as the broken relationship between father and daughter was at the heart of a deep dive. While it is clear that Cote de Pablo is willing to reproduce the character, after years away from the kicking old agent Mossad, it may be time for her to respond. again, if she ever does.

NCIS An action rep spoke about Ziva David, explaining how her reentrance would work in the show… again. He noted that those behind the show would not use it as a “trick up the aisle” if it did not have such a narrative appearance and result.

Steve Binder talks about ‘NCIS’ and Ziva David at Cote de Pablo

Binder noted that when considering whether to bring Cote de Pablo back for future events, a special thought process must come into play. He said Web TV:

“It will always be, ‘Let’s get hold of Cote and put her in.’ It’s, ‘Let’s come up with a story first, and see if he deserves to bring that character back. ‘”

Soon, Ziva may be an ace in the hole when it comes to NCIS, but the right opportunity must manifest itself before she can ask him to return. It can’t be a marketing gimmick – a tool used to garner interest and regain audiences. She has to give the series a reason, as she did in season 17.

While Binder explains that those behind the most open network crime approach would open Ziva Back, they have nothing planned for the character right now. However, that does not mean that a story will not unfold; maybe it’s time to knock on Michael Weatherly’s door to see if he still misses Tony. A family is in crisis, defending each other while bringing down the baddies looks like a false line for a future season.
