Melissa Gilbert did not want to kiss Dean Butler on ‘Little House on the Prairie’

It’s true that Laura got her first kiss long before the “Sweet 16” show, but that one was called “innocent little peck”, as Gilbert called it.

“It was Laura’s first kiss, the one she wanted, and it made me sick,” Gilbert wrote the memoir. Prairie story.

Gilbert remembers several members and a team asking her how she felt about her “big kiss” with Butler.

She was relieved when he was over.

“I felt like I was taking my first real breath in a week,” she wrote.

After the director “cut,” Gilbert turned to look at his mother, who was standing there “with tears in her eyes.”

“She gave me a hood before I hurried to the craft service table and put hooks in my mouth to get rid of any cooties,” she wrote.
