‘Little House on the Prairie’: Karen Grassle Said Michael Landon ‘Had a Falling-Out With a Producer Very Early on’—‘He Could Be Quite Moody’

Created by Michael Landon Toilet on the Moor in the 1970s. Fresh off his time on it Bonanza, Landon wanted to reflect the life of the Ingalls family in the 1800s. As an executive producer, Landon selected Karen Grassle to play Caroline Ingalls, also known as “Ma.”

In a 2015 interview, Grassle thought about working with Landon. She also spoke about her incident Toilet on the Moor, which took place in 1982.

Karen Grassle said Michael Landon was ‘moody’ when they filmed ‘Little House on the Prairie’ together

Prior to her career as Caroline, Grassle had a background in theater. After earning two degrees at the University of California, Berkeley, Grassle moved to London to further his craft. Grassle worked for a Shakespeare company in England for a year when she moved back to the states. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Grassle interviewed Landon. Shortly afterwards, Grassle played with Landon as parents of three children.

In 2016, actress Charlotte Stewart released a memoir of her time Toilet on the Moor. Stewart played Walnut Grove school teacher Eva Beadle throughout the series and worked closely with Grassle and Landon. She wrote that Landon and Grassle hit heads in real life. Nevertheless, the actors were never sanctioned Cottage on the Moors audience to see their tension.

“She and Mike always had great chemistry,” Stewart says in her book. “Unfortunately, in real life, Karen and Mike didn’t always get along. He would look at her mercilessly for being depressed, and I think she got tired of not only joking around but the easy way he used in general. ”

The grass is gone Toilet on the Moor in 1982. After a sharp drop in rankings, the show shifted the focus to the younger characters. The actor would return to the concert for a few guest places. After she left, Grassle returned to the theater.
