Olivia Benson is the mother of a boy named Noah
In the hit series, Olivia has a son named Noah (Ryan Buggle). Her journey to finally accept the rag says the least. Noah is the biological child of Ellie Porter (Emma Greenwell), who no longer lives. Noah was sold to a couple who discovered child pornography, and Benson found him in 2014 in a motel room according to the show’s exhibits Fandom page for the character. It was never picked up after the media covered the rescued children.
Noah was placed in the foster care system, and his mother, Ellie, was about to get clean and “testify against her pimp,” but she was brutally assaulted and killed. Benson got a temporary seizure, but his biological father, Johnny Drake (Charles Halford) learned his son was there, and tried to get a seizure, but was killed.
Eventually, Benson was able to officially accept Noah, and gave him the full name Noah Porter-Benson.

Benson is not the only one to adopt a child. Hargitay herself has adopted two children with her husband, Peter Hermann. She met Peter on a set SVU, and together they have created a beautiful family. according to Iris Us, the couple had their first child, a son named August, in 2006. The couple went on to adopt two children in 2011, Amaya and Andrew.

In 2018, Hargitay took a look at it The Vision, and spoke truthfully about the family. Hargitay’s mother was Jayne Mansfield, an actress. according to History.com, in 1967, Hargitay and her brothers were involved in a car accident that killed her mother, along with her mother’s boyfriend, Sam Brody. Hargitay was only three at the time, and it would be hard for anyone to deal with.
Hargitay was asked if her mother had anything to lose by adopting children, and she talked about her own childhood. She says that “families do so many different ways. ”
“You know, I grew up, I have more sisters, several of us kill, but I grew up with my two brothers,” Hargitay told The View. “And three was a kind of magic for us. And I had a really good stepmother, and I enjoyed and learned at a very young age that families are made in so many different ways. And from the moment I was this big, I knew I wanted to embrace it. With how I felt, I felt like I knew what to do. ”
Benson and Hargitay chose the adoption, confirming that Hargitay resembles her group on screen in an important way.
