Law & order: SVU has returned for season 22, and is already off to a good start. Episode 3 titled “Remember Me in Quarantine,” premiered on December 3. After more than a month on hiatus, the series returns on January 7, and is to become a documentary. ADA fan Rafael Barba (Raúl Esparza), a fan favorite, returns, but this time he has a new role.
Barba returns as a defense lawyer
Barba was on the series from season 14 to season 19 as ADA for the SVU squad. The job was successful and he went an extra mile in the courtroom. According to his Fandom page, was involved in a difficult issue and turns on life support for a child with MDDS. He was charged with murder charges, but was eventually evicted, and chose to resign as ADA. It was, in fact, an option to leave Esparza, but he appeared in another program, season 21, program 13, entitled “Redemption in Her Corner. ”
But that’s not the last we saw of Rafael Barba. He will return for episode 4 entitled “Sightless in a Savage Land,” which falls on January 7th. The news was announced on official social media pages, and a promo trailer was released after program 3 aired.
According to the eye-opening trailer, Barba is likely to return as a defense lawyer, and is set to go up against ADA Dominick Carisi, Jr (Peter Scanavino) in the the courtroom. Carisi is now the ADA for the squad, and Barba fights directly against him.
In a scene from the trailer, Carisi asks Barba if he is “going to complain” about defense. Barba replies with, “I’m just going for innocence.”
Carisi and Barba will have a courtroom show, and it’s going to be big. “Mr. Barba is going to play on your feelings, ”Carisi tells the jury. Barba can be seen rolling up his legs as if he were going down to business.
“Does anyone have a problem with that?” Barba tells the jury in another minute.
Fans will find out how the show goes
As expected, this is an event that fans are ready to see. Recently Reddit after the post several fans talked about the opportunities and figured out what could happen.
“What are the hopes for this great lawsuit Barba v. Love Thursday? ” there is a post with a title on Reddit. The user also commented, “… I love Barba but I’m also starting to like Carisi as an ADA. Idk though, this might knock a peg knock or two. He’s been incredibly funny since he got his office. ”
One fan thinks it would be “stupid if Barba” lost the lawsuit against Carisi, believing that the squad was “one of the best ADAs”.
“I like Carisi, but it would be weird if Barba lost,” said the Reddit user. “It depends on one of the best ADAs SVUthere always was. Honestly, Carisi preferred to be a detective. It would be nice to see him climb the levels there instead of turning to law. ”
A fan hopes that Barba will win against Carisi in this interesting courtroom, and that he will encourage some kind of mutual support between them. It would make sense, considering Barba has a lot of experience and Carisi is just getting her feet wet.
“I hope Barba sweeps the floor with Carisi, and that this is the start of a nice competition / mentor,” said a fan.
Another fan believes that Barba’s win over Carisi will not be “a real competition” as Barba is established as a “brilliant lawyer.” “I like Carisi, although his character lacks development this season, but this is not a real competition,” they said. “They established Barba as this brilliant lawyer, Ivy League was educated, so they can’t let him lose in a fair fight. The face of Carisi? If that was crazy. ”
One fan expects some roasting going on based on Barba “rolling up his legs” in the promo. “The way he looks at him in the promo rolling his cheeks tells me that there will be hidden roses (with great respect)! Just because that’s a lol thing, ”they said.
As some fans believe Carisi may win the lawsuit
However, one fan mentions the chances of how Carisi could win the route, such that Barba did not have a real case and perhaps Carisi reassures the defender while and he is standing. He still has a shot to win against quarterback Barba.
“I mean, it’s possible that Barba has no issue and is working on a really bad picture, or that Carisi is forcing the boy to confess on the stand, which is common practice which they use, ”said the follower. “Then it would be more reasonable for Carisi to win over the much more talented and attractive lawyer. ”
Another fan believes that Carisi will win the case instead because they do not believe that Carisi will be made to “look like an incompetent fool. ”He’s one of the main characters after all.
“… I’m excited about Barba showing up but I hate that he has to stand up to Carisi as a court,” a fan wrote. “It simply came to our notice then. They won’t let Carisi look like an incompetent fool until they put Barba down or move the case so he doesn’t have a chance to win. Bleh of course. ”
We’ll soon learn the truth about how the courtroom show plays into it Law & order: SVU.
