Jed Duggar Might Have to Pay $7,000 for Accepting an Illegal Amount of Campaign Donation Money

The Duggars are known for their ultra-conservative ideas, and Jedidiah Duggar follows right in the footsteps of Jim Bob Duggar. The 21-year-old is getting deep into Arkansas local politics. But it looks like he could be in trouble now, as he says he accepted enterprise grants that were somewhat illegal.

Jed Duggar teamed up with Instagram to push his political agenda

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have been coming out about their ultra-conservative ideas since they were first introduced to TLC. And it was only a matter of time before one of the men from Duggar decided to go into politics themselves. Now, Jed is pushing his political agenda through Instagram. Back in November 2019, he announced that he was running for Arkansas State Representative District 89 in Springdale, Arkansas.

“I am a Conservative. Pro-Life. Pro-Second Change. Pro-Divine Freedom, ”Jed posted to Instagram along with his painting back in 2019. “Fight the Opioid crisis. Lower taxes. More jobs & growth. Strong economy. ”

His family has also shown a ton of support for his political endeavors. “It was an honor to go to the Arkansas State Capitol today to view my brother @jed_duggar’s file as a candidate for House District 89,” added her older sister Jana Duggar Instagram last year. “I’m so proud of the man and the heart he has for serving the Springdale community!”

He reportedly accepted illegal sums of enterprise grant money

Jed has plenty of fans (and several haters), but it looks like he could be in big trouble because of what happened to his campaign donations. according to The sun, Jed accepted a donation of $ 8,400 from one donor in Louisiana named Ross Little.

Initially, Little appeared to have donated $ 2,800 back in August 2020. Then, an additional donation of $ 5,600 was disbursed in September, making the total from one person $ 8,400. Unfortunately for Jed, $ 2,400 is the maximum a donor can make in the state of Arkansas.

So, what is the impact of accepting these contributions? Apparently Jed may have to pay $ 3,500 for each breach. There are two breaches, so about $ 7,000 in total. And, while it is possible that Jed can use the money given to him to pay the fines, The Sun notes that he has to report it as “campaign spending” because his cost over $ 100.

Will Jim Bob Duggar help Jed with the debt?

While Jed may be in trouble with Arkansas, he certainly has the support of his family. He has already received donations from some of his brothers and sisters. And The Sun notes that Jim Bob donated $ 300 to the cause as well.

Jim Bob may be the one to help Jed out with this normal situation as well. Jim Bob has a lot of experience in politics, as he served on the Arkansas House of Representatives, so we bet he has a soft spot for what could be going on with Jed’s finances. And Jim Bob might have a lot of money from his years onwards Counting on.

Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, has stated that Jim Bob is in control of the family’s finances. TLC may have paid Jim Bob for his family as a unit rather than paying each Duggar on his own. And it is also possible that Jim Bob held on to most of the wealth rather than distributing it fairly among Counting on participants. In any case, it is probably good news for Jim Bob to amass wealth for the potential $ 7,000 of Jed.

We’re sure the Duggars will see this one one way or another!
