One of the most popular suggestions for spouting out old home decor is one of the easiest. The Napiers recommend painting useless spaces to make an impact without spending a fortune.

“It’s amazing what you can take off with paint,” said Ben Inside.

This applies to walls, obviously, but also in more unexpected areas. For example, the restoration of Mississippi encourages fans to try painting before committing to expensive new cabinetry.

“Cabinets are often fine, and need to be painted,” explained Ben. Countertops and floors can also be painted in the kitchen.

Expensive upgrades are not always better, the Napiers say

Speaking of kitchens, the Home home hosts also have a number of suggestions to save money during transplants. In particular, they recommend not splurging on the best of everything every time.

“People shouldn’t feel the need to blow a fortune on countertops,” Erin told Insider. Instead of granite, the Napiers suggest finding something more affordable.

“There are a lot of affordable options out there that will give the house a fresh look and also without breaking the budget,” explained Ben. “Laminate is good, butcher blocks are good, there are more affordable stone options.”

He continued, “The most expensive option may not be the best option. You don’t have to have marble. ”
