Anatomy Gray fans still miss Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and her relationship with Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo). However, her “dark and funny” character shines with this same character in season 17.
‘Meredith Gray and Tom Koracick’ have COVID-19 on ‘Gray’s Anatomy’
At the end of the winter of Anatomy Gray, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) visited Meredith Gray in her hospital room. All patients have COVID-19 and should not be out of their rooms. However, after Tom watches his roommate die of the virus, he wants to visit Meredith.
“You don’t understand how precarious you are to save a life you can’t,” Tom tells Meredith. “How funny it is that the best surgeons and the second best surge caught this plague.”
Then, Meredith says she is not the second best surgeon in the hospital.
“You thought I put you at number one,” he laughs. “That’s so sad.”
The two scandalize as they engage in a friendly ban on who is the best surgeon in the hospital. Meredith asks Tom how many Catherine Fox Awards he has won.
“How many Catherine Fox did you save?” he counts.
“Very well,” replied Meredith, both of them laughing.
Fans feel Tom Koracick taking off Cristina Yang vibes
Anatomy Gray the interaction between Tom and Meredith at the end of the winter was much appreciated by fans. They noted how much their brief interaction reminded Cristina Yang.
“I’m telling you, Koracick gives me Cristina vibes,” wrote one fan Reddit. “It’s dark and funny. He knows he is the best man to do it. It is unapologetic. And sometimes he doesn’t understand why people don’t like him. That is 100% Cristina. “
“I really enjoyed that moment between Korasic and Mer, too,” wrote one other fan. “The actors have a lot of chemistry too.”
Fans are hoping the two surgeons will grow closer for the rest of the season. Gray’s Anatomy returns from the breakup on March 4, 2021.
