‘Gilmore Girls’: Would Rory’s Book Actually Be Successful?

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life first on Netflix in 2016. The miniseries revive the show of love Gilmore’s daughters which ended in 2007.

In the miniseries, Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) finds herself struggling with her career and love life. As a fresh start, Rory decides to write a book about her relationship with her mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham).

She plans to call the book Gilmore’s daughters, and fans can assume that the book is a meta-description of the show itself. However, some fans are really wondering if Rory ‘s book would be a success.

Lorelai didn’t want Rory to write the book first

In the revival, Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) suggests Rory write a book about her childhood and growing up with Lorelai. When Rory runs the idea with Lorelai, her mother doesn’t ask her to write the book.

The two get into a fight, as Lorelai doesn’t want specific details about her life to be made public and Rory needs to be able to bring Lorelai in for the story to work. After Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life aired, most fans seemed to take Lorelai’s side in the disagreement and find out that Lorelai was lazy in character.

“She wanted to write about intimate information about Lorelai’s life and everyone has the right not to share such information with the public. In Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Rory runs into her ex – boyfriend Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki) and asks if she can bring him into the book. She tells him that she intends to change her name and to include only good things about her. Fans used this event as another reason for Rory’s book not being successful.

While some fans of Gilmore’s daughters criticizing Rory ‘s choice to write a book, other fans believe the memory could be a success in the end. Fans who think this is also of the opinion that the meta-reference with the title of the book is coming to fruition and that the book has turned into fans of a familiar and fond TV show.
