The new year is here and that means a fresh start. But for fans of Gilmore’s daughters, it seems to mean watching the WB-CW series for the umpteenth time. Take a look back at the popular TV show, Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), and her daughter, Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), during the years of Logan Hunztberger (Matt Czuchry) at the show.
Heir to a newspaper empire, Logan went to Yale with Rory. He joined Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki) and Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) as one of her main love interests. Like Jess, Lorelai didn’t like Logan much. And as fans of Gilmore’s daughters you know, more than once things were tight between them.
Lorelai Gilmore discovered that Rory Gilmore and Logan Huntzberger were ‘kissing’
In the 100th episode of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s fast-paced show, Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop) – Rory’s grandparents and Lorelai’s parents – renewed their marriage vows.
They were separated (by the pool house as Lorelai put it) and finally reconciled. Rory served her grandfather’s best husband while Lorelai took over as maiden of honor.
Like any classic program in the series, Gilmore’s daughters Season 5 Episode 13: “Wedding Bell Blues” featured family drama, relationships, and colorful characters. After Rory became so tense about liking Logan, she confronted him on the dance floor. As a result, she grabbed a bottle of champagne and took Logan to a quieter place for “wireless fun.”
That’s when Lorelai last met Logan. But conditions were not so good. She walked in on Logan and Rory “in the back room kissing” as she explained to Richard and Emily.
“Grandma wants a picture,” Lorelai told Rory and she replied, “What this ?!”
Then came Rory’s father, Christopher Hayden (David Sutcliffe), and Lorelai’s girlfriend, Luke Danes (Scott Patterson). Somewhere there Logan and Lorelai exchanged a few words but it was weird, anyway.
Lorelai Gilmore caught Logan Huntzberger stealing from her mother
After Rory’s tragic dinner with the Huntzberger family, Logan had dinner with the Gilmores. He looked up at Richard and Emily’s house with thoughtful gifts for Rory’s grandparents. He was also ready to do some Life and Death Brigade business.
He replaced old Emily’s sewing box for something else. Unbeknownst to him, Lorelai saw. And, of course, Emily noticed that the box was lost almost immediately after Logan pocketed.
Just as Emily started accusing her staff of stealing Lorelai said she found him hiding behind the flowers on the dining room table. As she did so she waited for Logan to hand over the box. It did and it turned out to be another reason Lorelai didn’t care about Rory’s new girlfriend.
Basically, the whole dinner scene included Gilmore’s daughters Season 5 Episode 20: “How Many Kropogs to Cape Cod?” one awfully long moment came for Logan and Lorelai.
Logan Huntzberger and Lorelai Gilmore disagreed about Rory Gilmore’s job opportunities
Near the end Gilmore’s daughtersthe original run came another awful moment between Lorelai and Logan. In Gilmore’s daughters Season 7 Episode 18: “Hay Bale Maze,” brought Rory Logan home to Stars Hollow.
Meanwhile, Rory was waiting to hear back about the New York Times Reston Alliance. But it did mean he had to turn down a lesser-known job opportunity at a lesser-known newspaper.
Logan and Lorelai had different advice for Rory. Logan felt that if she wanted the alliance she should reject the other offer. As for Lorelai, she encouraged Rory to consider taking the job even though this was not her first choice.
Logan and Lorelai disagreed about what Rory should do following a strange moment outside of Luke’s Diner and a heartfelt conversation about a late pie slice.
At the time of publication, each quarter of Gilmore’s daughters and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life streaming on Netflix.
