Sitcom CBS Everyone loves Raymond the last program was canceled in 2005 after nine seasons. The comedy revolves around the still abusive Barone family, which included Ray Romano (Ray), Patricia Heaton (Debra’s wife), Brad Garrett (Ray Robert’s brother), Doris Roberts (Ray Marie’s mother), and Peter Boyle (father of Ray Frank).
When media mogul Oprah Winfrey invited the team to come in to discuss the show’s legendary run, she asked for access to the set to put on a few photos of the actors in action. But show creator Phil Rosenthal changed the queen’s speech presentation request.
The ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ team is in – the show ‘s creator is out
Doing countless interviews on news programs and talk shows during their final season, members of the sitcom were planning a stop in Chicago for a sit-down with Winfrey. When Rosenthal was told he would not be part of the interview, he made a few calls to lobby for himself.
“’Good news,’ said my group, ” Rosenthal recalled in his book You’re lucky you are funny: How life becomes a Sitcom. “’You are invited to come The Oprah Look and sit in the audience. ‘”
A chair in the audience didn’t sit well with the show’s creator, who saw the ban as a result of television producers.
“Is this what I came to Hollywood 15 years ago – this experience?” Rosenthal wrote, “Fifteen years ago I would have loved to eat anything but a tuna fish sandwich for dinner. But this was it.” the dream of many people. Oprah. It occurred to me that I was a boob. I learned from this little lesson in Hollywood values that I should just focus on the work. The work is a reward in itself. ”
