‘Everybody Loves Raymond’: Why ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ Wasn’t Allowed on the Set

Sitcom CBS Everyone loves Raymond the last program was canceled in 2005 after nine seasons. The comedy revolves around the still abusive Barone family, which included Ray Romano (Ray), Patricia Heaton (Debra’s wife), Brad Garrett (Ray Robert’s brother), Doris Roberts (Ray Marie’s mother), and Peter Boyle (father of Ray Frank).

When media mogul Oprah Winfrey invited the team to come in to discuss the show’s legendary run, she asked for access to the set to put on a few photos of the actors in action. But show creator Phil Rosenthal changed the queen’s speech presentation request.

The ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ team is in – the show ‘s creator is out

Doing countless interviews on news programs and talk shows during their final season, members of the sitcom were planning a stop in Chicago for a sit-down with Winfrey. When Rosenthal was told he would not be part of the interview, he made a few calls to lobby for himself.

A chair in the audience didn’t sit well with the show’s creator, who saw the ban as a result of television producers.
