In season 4 of Dexter, fans met Arthur Miller, a tragic man who turned out to be a brutal serial killer. Arthur hid behind the face of perfect life. In his community, Arthur was a family man working as a teacher. But like Dexter, Arthur was harboring a dark mystery.

Trinity had a penchant for killing in four specific rituals. Arthur always killed a 10-year-old boy first. This was meant to symbolize himself. His next victim would always be a young, single woman. He would cut the femoral artery in a tub to recreate the horrific accident that killed his sister.

After that, Arthur would go after a mother with two young children, who had to die by suicide just like his mother did. Arthur’s last ones were always older men with two children who would kill him.

The ‘Trinity Killer’ was responsible for Rita’s death

When Dexter got too close to Arthur, things went awry. Instead of working on his ban, Dexter waited too long to kill Arthur and eventually lost Rita (Julie Benz) because of him.

Unbeknownst to Rita, Dexter strikes and kills Arthur with a hammer. But when he returned home, he found his son Harrison (Luke Andrew Kruntchev) in a pool of blood on the floor, just as Harry (James Remar) had found Dexter the years before.

Although his killing did not follow a specific pattern as Arthur Miller did, Rader shared the characteristics of Arthur’s display.

Part of Rader’s killing ritual was malingl letters to the police that gave a detailed account of his serious crimes, drawing media attention. The Rader killing spree began in 1974 and ended in 1991. In 2004, after Rader sent letters again, he was arrested and arrested in 2005. He is currently served ten consecutive life sentences at the El Dorado Correctional Facility in Prospect Township, Kansas.
