Dexter it will return in 2021 with 10 new events. Whether or not Jennifer Carpenter reappears her role as Debra Morgan remains a mystery. However, we are rejoicing Dexterreturns with an official account of how many times Deb dropped the f-bomb in the show.
Debra Morgan has a penchant for cursing
Carpenter played Dexter’s adopted sister (Michael C. Hall). Together, they worked for the Miami Metro Police Department, Dexter covering his need to kill and Deb hiding her feelings for her adoptive brother.
Carpenter quickly became a household name because of her portrayal of the sailor detective. Ironically, Carpenter cut out many of the cursed performers that were included in the original scripts. In an interview with Vulture since 2010, Carpenter has admitted to prosecuting the material she received. “I take a lot of the words cuss out,” she said.
Why is Debra Morgan cursing so much?
There are many theories as to why almost every other word was out of Deb’s mouth as a variation of f * ck. Deb’s deceptive mouth could have been the result of the trauma she suffered all her life. She lost her mother when she was young. Shortly afterwards, she lost her father, Harry (James Remar). Deb’s penchant for cursing could have evolved from mourning her parents.
Later in life, Deb experienced even more trauma, what with being involved in the Ice Truck Killer, who was also the biological brother of Dexter Brian (Christian Camargo).
Another theory is that Deb’s deceptive mouth comes with the land of her work. There is no doubt that Miami is a fictional detective where there is an incredible amount of murders that could tax a person. In addition, cursing around a police force area seems to be the norm.
Jennifer Carpenter’s favorite deb swear is Deb
Considering the swearing of her character throughout Dexteran eight-season run, Carpenter had a lot to choose from. But when asked which Deb’s famous cuss words she preferred, she had this to say:
We had a little bit of offense coming in during the second season, I think, a pretty high-pitched gigantic football player, and I called it ‘af * cking beef bus,’ which made me laugh to do.
That phrase was closely followed by another original Debra Morgan. “I do [also] really like ‘I’d rather put out a campfire with my face,’ ‘Carpenter said. “Sh * ta brick and f * ck me with it ‘are also fine.”
Deb says ‘f * ck’ 996 times in ‘Dexter’
Bloody exile he spoke to YouTuber Adam Eyster about a video montage he created. His masterpiece was celebrated every time Deb cursed through the show’s 96 programs.
“I did my best to narrow down each F * CK to just the word or just the phrase around it,” Eyster explained. According to his calculations, the value of Deb’s curse is about 20 minutes.
“I was amazed to see how much time went by over 8 seasons as it put them all together,” he continued. “I was also amazed at how many times she got it out of her mouth.”
Somehow, Debra Morgan is impossible to imagine without a sailor’s mouth.
