It was no surprise Counting on fans who haven’t missed former stars Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard out on Duggar’s 2020 family Christmas celebration. According to Derick, he and his wife were not even invited.
However, Jessa Duggar says that is not true. She says no one in the family is “reduced.” But if that’s the case, why didn’t Jim Bob Duggar respond to Derick and Jill’s horrific claims?
Former star of ‘Counting On’ has been calling Jim Bob Duggar for years
Derick and Jill walked away from Counting on at the end of 2017. Ever since then, the couple has become increasingly vocal about why they decided to leave reality TV. In the past few months, Derick and Jill have made YouTube videos where they answer fan questions about the fake situation. But long before that, Derick was calling Jim Bob out on social media.
It was never like this though. Mar Mom cafe pointing out, Jim Bob is the reason Derick and Jill met. Many years ago, Jim Bob was a Derick mentor and introduced him to his daughter.
At the time, Derick was living in Kathmandu, Nepal, so he and Jill started a long distance relationship. Jim Bob ended up traveling to Nepal with Jill so she could meet Derick in person and start dating.
Derick and Jill’s relationship moved swiftly after that. They tied the knot just a few months after they met, and Derick became a regular 19 Children & counting, before he turned inwards Counting on. However, it was not long before a trouble broke out between the young couple and her parents.

Derick has argued in several social media posts that money and discipline were the main reasons the relationship with Jim Bob was remembered. Jill doubled down on those claims in her recent YouTube and Derick videos.
Before they officially left at the end of 2017, Derick and Jill tried for a long time to leave Counting on. They explained that they would be shut down every time they tried to pursue their own projects and interests.
“How is that family Christmas in Duggar, when your sister and brother-in-law aren’t there because your family is reduced?” the fan asked Jessa on her YouTube page.
She replied quickly, “No one is down. The Dillards were invited, but chose to celebrate the holiday with the Derick family. “
