Counting on stars Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are the young parents of two young children – Gideon, 2, and Annabell Elise, 5 months. Like any proud wife and mother, Joy-Anna regularly posts on social media about her family.
She and Austin also talk about their daily lives on their own Follow the Forsyths YouTube channel. But putting your life online – especially when you’re a Duggar – can come with a bad background.
‘Counting On’ fans followed Joy-Anna Duggar for leaving her new baby on a bed
Back in November, Joy-Anna shared a photo of her daughter called Evy. And at the time she was only three months old. Pictured, Evy is lying in the living room on a bed while Gideon runs around playing.
Both children appeared happy and healthy, and there appears to have been an adult right there in the room taking pictures. But some Counting on fans feared Evy was not safe on the runway alone. And they called Joy “dumb as a rock.” ”
“What a handful of fools. The damn floor would at least be safer than a recliner ”wrote one troll. A second said, “Joy is dumb as a rock, but I’m starting to think her parenting is subpar at best. ”
according to The sun, the study into Joy ‘s parenting decisions came just days after beauty company DIME canceled its partnership with Joy because they do not “support” Duggar’ s family values.
In a company statement, DIME said they did not terminate the partnership because of the Counting on star credits. However, they had received complaints about Duggar’s family being accused of racism, and did not “want to associate” their brand with that in any form.
Austin Forsyth suffers loss for ‘irresponsible’ father
In early January, Austin shared a post about his latest venture – getting his skydiving certificate. The 23-year-old shared a photo of himself and Gideon lying on the floor. The two were in a skydiving position with arms and legs raised in the air.
“He learns quickly. Gideon will be in the sky in no time! falling #skydiving #myminiman, ”Austin he wrote in the caption.
Joy explained “Austin got his skydiving certificate a month or two ago.” She said that Gideon is always asking his father, “will you kick (jump) a plane? “😅.”
Again, Counting on fans were not happy with parental choice. This time they went after Austin on Reddit. One user wrote, “This is the kind of rubbish you should do BIG if you have children, in case you die.”
Another user commented, “He has two children and an unskilled wife, who has so little education and is all dependent on him so this looks irresponsible. ”
Tons of ideas continued to pour into the thread, with many Counting on fans express their anger about Austin’s sky choices. One raised the idea that parents of small children do not have the business of jumping out of a plane if they are not in the military.
“As a result of this immaturity he decided to jump out of planes for pleasure,” the skeptic wrote. “He also believes that everyone thinks he is brave and manly instead of being careless and childish. ”
Another asked how it is time for someone with two very young children – who is also one supporter of his family – to get his skydiving certificate and go hunting in Colorado.
‘Counting On’ star Joy-Anna Duggar gives rare Q&As
Despite the criticism she continues to make online, Joy is still brave enough to speak directly to her fans. The Counting On star recently took fans to a rare Q&A session on her Instagram story. And, she revealed details of how she knew Austin was “the man.”
according to In Touch Weekly, Joy said to a man Counting on fan that she was teasing Austin when she was just 13-years-old and she was 17. She says she knew he was her future husband because of prayer.
“I will try to give a simple answer. If I could say one thing, it would be: I prayed for certain things that were important to me for Austin and God answered those prayers. And we only had sparks! LOL, ”said Joy.
Joy and Austin announced their courtship in November 2016 and tied the knot in May 2017 when Joy was just 18-years-old. They welcomed baby Gideon just nine months later.
As for how their relationship has changed since becoming parents, Joy says it’s important to keep the fire burning. Since they have children, they need to be “more of a reason to spend time together.”
Counting on currently on hiatus. New programs will return to TLC later this year.
