But before you played the duke, what was famous for Page?
He may be familiar with the work of Fans of Rhimes from another Shondaland series, For the People. Page played the character Leonard Knox in the 20 episodes of ABC’s 2-season legal drama.
But the actor, who is from Zimbabwe and educated in the United Kingdom, appeared on the TV screens of most Americans when he appeared in Roots, a recap of the History Channel of the 1970s miniseries about American slavery. Page played the character Chicken George in the 2016 edition.

While Bridgerton and Roots perhaps there doesn’t seem to be much in common, Page sees a connection between the projects.
“Both are plays of time, and both feature people who exist in the world around us, who have not been sufficiently represented in the stories on our screens, and at their heart, they are love stories, ”he told Entertainment Weekly.
“That’s a big part of why I wanted to go up in the show,” Page told the publication. The actor extended the importance of production in the conventional moments:
Because we exist and exist and will be present in all forms of life from the beginning of time to the end. There is something lacking in that. We are at a special time where it is part of my job for people in my generation of artists to start telling and filling these stories.
