AMC’s famous TV series breaking bad it was full of talented actors. From Bryan Cranston to Anna Gunn, all the actors on the show made their presence on the small screen.
But, even though each actor brought something special to the show, Giancarlo Esposito’s performance was quite remarkable. Playing Walter White’s former boss and nemesis, Gus Fring, Esposito redefined what a villain would look and feel like.
One of the most memorable moments in the show was when Gus Fring was killed by Walter White in a nursing home bombing, leaving his face badly designed. Because of how awesome Esposito looked to viewers at home, he was even stronger for him.

When Esposito first found out that his character was going to die, he met with presenter Vince Gilligan to discuss the possibilities. They both knew they wanted his death to be as real as possible, and he remembered feeling disturbed at the 2018 re-interview with Rich Eisen.
“I’m very worried. Vince [Gilligan] talking to me, we talked about it, I said ‘I didn’t want this death to die into sci-fi land,’ “Esposito said. “It had to be true. We had to believe it, and we agreed on that.
After coming to terms with how he would die, they had to look together for the scene. To make his makeup perfect, he had to spend several hours with an artist and make a mold of his head, which was a scary experience.
“Yes, very upset because it was four and a half hours makeup, a trip to Los Angeles… and I have to say, I sat for a body for an hour and a half… Very scary, I had to hold my hand, I couldn’t they wouldn’t hear, they couldn’t see, and a lot of people are pulling out, they just have to take it off, ”said Esposito.
The talent of the makeup artists was enjoyed by all
Esposito had no idea what the end result would be when he sat in the makeup chair. However, it was not a disappointment when the work was finished.
“So they made that body, they made some digital stuff after that. And then on the day, they had to make it all up and when I finally turned – I decided not to look in the mirror when it was being done – I turned my back. So when they could turn me around, I was struck by the art with which this was set against me. ”
Everyone else was just as good, because they couldn’t wait to start taking pictures.
“It surprised me how people immediately started taking selfies from me, but it was a bit critical,” said Esposito. “Very, very willing.”
Vince Gilligan liked Giancarlo Esposito’s direction with the character
After the maker went out of its way, Esposito decided to add a stunning look to the on-screen death, which Gilligan liked.
“So we had a lot of discussion, and Vince says, ‘What would you do if this happened? ‘And I said,’ Well look, Gus is very right. ‘ I close my jacket when I stand, I open it when I sit down. I said, ‘I would straighten my connection. And Vince just – lit his eyes, and said, ‘Oh my blessing, what is it – and I said,’ Yes, he’s getting ready to go. ‘
