‘Blue Bloods’: Family Dinner Brought Out Vanessa Ray’s Nervous Habit

Mostly Blue blood fans would agree that their favorite part of the show was the Reagan family dinner scene. Vanessa Ray says when she sat down for her first dinner scene, one of her nervous habits was stimulated.

Ray had been on Blue blood for a few seasons before her character, Eddie Janko, attended the Reagan family dinner. Rè Pink Lemonade Position podcast with Nicole Kaplan and Heidi Webster, Ray reveals that she was pretty crazy in the first couple of dinners. She was worried about doing something wrong.

“When I joined Jamie on the show, Will Estes, I had to go to a family dinner, which was a big ceremony,” says Ray. “I was at the show for so long that everyone knows about the show for the family dinner. I was so horrified. I was like, ‘Don’t say the wrong thing. Don’t chew too loud [during someone else’s line]. I was afraid to do everything wrong. “

Ray mentioned through the podcast that she has a bad habit. She was brought forward in the early days when she attended a family dinner.

“It sounds like a silly thing, but my legs are short,” she tells Kaplan and Webster. “So they put me on a chair with a bunch of cushions, and my feet couldn’t hit the ground. So, at every turn, I was kicking my feet with anxiety. ”

Ray says that one of the Blue blood costumers talked to her about her practice. “I was so anxious all the time, and finally, one of the costumers was like,‘ Vanessa, you have to stop kicking your feet. He looks cunning; you look so anxious. ‘And I’m like,’ I can’t reach the floor and I don’t want to tell anyone. I don’t know what to do. ‘All my weight was coming out.’

Ray also talked about the ways she doesn’t look like her character. When asked if she could ever be a real-life police officer, Ray says she doesn’t think she could.

“Do I feel like I could be a real cop? Of course not, ”said Ray. “It’s the hardest job in the world. They run into problems instead of running away. It high stakes; it is 0 to 100, 100% of the time. They are heroes. ”

Plus, Ray says she feels tight when she has a scene where her character has to take out her gun. Although she trained for her career on it Blue blood, Ray says she never handled guns before joining the team.

Ray says that she and Estes got it right away and are like brother and sister. “The chemistry there was very quick,” Ray tells Kaplan and Webster.

“He has the strongest character of anyone I have ever met,” she continues. “He loves his family and his mother that anyone would be so lucky to have, and it’s very funny. I don’t think people know how funny it is. There is no one in the world who makes me laugh harder than Will Estes. I really love that guy. And I have so much respect for him. ”
