Jada Pinkett Smith committed suicide twice in her life

On November 13, 2020, Jada brought Jameela Jamil to Red Table Conversation to discuss her secret struggles. When the actress revealed that “accused rage” was playing a part in her suicide attempts, Jada admitted that the same thing happened to her.

“I had the same experience,” Jada told Jamil. “[I] I got a level of success, I got pretty much everything I was asked for, and I basically believed that is a nervous breakdown and it was also self-defeating. It has happened twice in my life. And I found out the same thing, that it was all based on accused rage. I was sitting on so much prey that covered my sadness and despair. ”

Jamil confessed what was her last straw. “I don’t blame anyone, ” she remembers thinking. “Everyone would be better off without me…‘”

Willow also said her feelings were similar to Jamil and Jada’s when she harmed herself.

‘Red Table Talk’ changes tones with their holiday message

Instead of focusing on a happy holiday Red Table Conversation, Jada, Willow, and Gammy bring several suicide attempt survivors to the table. The family wants to send a powerful message to those struggling this holiday season. For many people, the holidays are challenging, and the Smith family wants viewers to know that they are not alone.

“What message would you give to those who are struggling,” Jada asks one survivor in a special clip.

“My best and greatest piece of advice is to just tell someone,” Emma replied. “Because if I had just opened up and expressed what I was going through, without shame, and without shame, if I hadn’t done so, it might have been a different outcome for me. Maybe I didn’t have to struggle and suffer so deeply. It looks so simple, but really from the bottom of my heart, I have to tell people, because that will save you. ”
