’30 Rock’: Alec Baldwin Offered to Take a Pay Cut to Keep the Show Alive

It can be easy to imagine celebrities with their incredible net worth as having an unconscious focus on their own bottom line. There are some stars that are famous for big money, but many rich and famous people are very generous.

We usually hear stories of this generosity in reports of making charitable donations, but celebrities have also been willing to donate their own income to the projects on which save them work – and, by extension, the salaries of their co-stars and employees. that depends on the set running to make their own payment checks.

This was the case for Alec Baldwin when he offered to take a pay cut for keeping it 30 Creag working.

Appears in 2006, 30 Creag a bit of metafiction that examined the interaction of the workers working behind the scenes on a sketch comedy show. The show featured Tina Fey as Liz Lemon, runner of the action show.

The girls’ show, that fictional sketch comedy had been fading, but the network ‘s new Executive Vice President Jack Donaghy (represented by Alec Baldwin) has a plan to turn it around, and he to bring Liz under her wing – with hilarious antics to follow.

Completing the ensemble cast were Tracy Morgan (who played a thinly veiled version of herself called Tracy Jordan), Jane Krakowski (played by Liz’s best friend Jenna Maroney), and Jack McBrayer (played by Kenneth Parcell , a breakout character whose role grew significantly as the series progressed). The series aired for seven seasons before ending in 2013.

Alec Baldwin’s role was not always secure

As well as starring in the series, Tina Fey was also the writer, and she had a scene of Alec Baldwin starring Jack Donaghy even before the pilot was written. “Well, it was written for Alec Baldwin but none of us had a member to talk to him about,” Fey explained. Baldwin was a big name with both a lengthy filmography of impressive duties and the reputation of a bad boy who gave him hot water with the law several times.

Baldwin agreed to be on the show, much to Fey ‘s relief, and she believes he was involved in the first place with the show being built in the first place. If we didn’t have Alec, “Fex admitted, the network was not even building this pilot. ”

Having worked so closely with Baldwin over the years, Fey had nothing to do with his talents, writing the memoir, “He can play the feeling at the heart of a scene while reciting long speeches word for word and hitting all jokes in the right rhythms. You’d be surprised how many big Oscar-winning movie stars can’t do this. ”

Even after Baldwin joined the team, he wondered if he wanted to promise in the long run. In an interview with EW, Fey reflects on how she had to accept that Baldwin could leave at any time: “I always had something Zen about it – whether it does it or not, and if it doesn’t, we continued…. You can’t control things by worrying about it. ”

Alec Baldwin offered to take a pay cut to save the show

Despite the speculation that Baldwin’s time on the show may have been cut short, he was ultimately an enthusiastic partner. In fact, with the show woven in, he did everything he could to keep it going. Mar EW reports, Baldwin said, “I offered NBC to cut my pay by 20 per cent until the full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Creag. I understand that times have changed. ”

The show didn’t get an eighth season, but a seventh full season and a final finish. Baldwin has gone on to many other projects including a famous portrait of President Donald Trump SNL.
