Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has explained his reasons for competing for a seat in the country’s parliament.
Dumelo runs as a Parliamentary candidate for the Democratic National Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso Constituency of West Wuogon in Ghana.
The actor says his Parliamentary appeal calls for the people to make life better in and out of his society.
He says his people made him take advantage of being voted as their representative and Member of Parliament (MP).
Dumelo says that while he does not have to be in Parliament to influence the people but he needs to be in a position to influence policy frameworks that will make his constituency better for life.
“My Parliamentary submission is a call. The people called me to represent them and I heeded their call. “
I chose to go to Parliament so we can make laws because that will help me to better represent my people, ”Dumelo told Accra-based Peace FM.
