Fuji Veteran artist Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam1, has given a reason he can never run for any political office.
Speaking at an event, entitled “FUJI-Opera”, held at the Alliance Francaise, Mike Adenuga Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, KWAM 1, the first Mayegun of Yoruba Land, said its decision was not running for any political office based on his hatred for “promise and failure” ideas.
According to him, he does not want to make strong promises to get votes only to fail the voters due to unforeseen factors.
A few months ago, KWAM 1 attacked a broadcaster named Wole Sorunke in Ogun State, leading to calls for his title to be revoked.
Broadcaster Ogun had accused Wasiu Ayinde and his ‘boys’ of beating him at Olu Itori’s 60th birthday party, Oba Abdulfatai Akamo.
The event generated mixed opinions, as the Association of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters of Nigeria (FIBAN) ordered their members to stop playing Ayinde songs on their radio and television programs.
However, the matter was resolved at a meeting held at the Olu Itori palace in the Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun State.
