Afropop conscious David Adeleke, also known as Davido has expressed support for Bobi Wine for the election of the President of Uganda.
Mr Wine, who is also a musician, runs against Yoweri Museveni, who has been in power since 1986.
The election is slated for January 14th.
Bobi Wine on Tuesday accused Museveni of sending troops to attack his home and seize his security information.
According to reports, the country’s telecoms regulator, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Managing Director Irene Sewankambo has ordered telecoms companies to block access to social media.
Although Davido who is a Nigerian cannot vote in Uganda, people all over the continent are heavily influenced.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian entertainment industry had a close relationship with the Ugandan govt over the arrest of Omay Lay in December for violating COVID-19 laws after their performance at
exhibition in the country. There were reports of Ugandan musicians forcing the government to arrest a Nigerian star.
However, Davido tweeted on his timeline: “I definitely support good governance! And Bobi seems to be a standing boy! He has been fighting for a revolution for a minute! Whoever wins. I hope it’s the will of the people. ”
