Popular TV icon and “Jeopardy” guest, Alex Trebek is dead.
According to TMZ, the 80-year-old moved quietly at home early Sunday morning, surrounded by family and friends after his long battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer from March 2019.
Also, the show’s executives obediently said through their official Twitter account that they were saddened when the Image was lost.
“Jeopardy! It’s hard to say that Alex Trebek died peacefully at home early in the morning, surrounded by family and friends.
Trebek went through it for a whole year despite what he called “major depressive attacks that made him wonder if it was really worth fighting for.
“October was his last day tapping into a studio. Hospitality events run through December 25th.
“Thank you, Alex,” the tweet said.
Alex began his career on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1961 announcing the news, and quickly gained fame after hosting the high school quiz show, “Reach for the Top. ”
