Well-known photographer Toyin Lawani has defended herself after being called out over the nun photos she shared on social media.
The popular fashion entrepreneur was rushed for her outfit to film premiere over the weekend.
Lawani was a post shared on Instagram wearing racy Nun clothes but with a slit in the middle revealing her thighs.
This, however, did not go down well with some online followers and Nigerians who tasted her for mocking Christianity.
But in an Instagram post shared in response to the backlash, Lawani confirmed that Nigerians have refused to be liberated when it comes to fashion and show subjects.
The stylist’s claim that she doesn’t wear clothes with the cross makes it a sign of disrespect to maintain that Nigerians would have admired her clothing if people internationally renowned wears it.
“This message is telling you that you are not making sense, not an explanation.
“Honestly Nigerians have refused to be liberated when it comes to fashion and show subjects, when do you get into your empty skulls that suits can carry crucifixion and that doesn’t meaning it is a symbol of respect, people dress up as sex nuns all day, for events of all kinds.
“Just because I’m Nigerian but if it’s Kim or your RiRi or Beyoncé now, you hear aww, so hot, my role model.
“Bloody hypocrites but behind a closed door they are insulting and doing bad shit, even the shepherds who come here to preach, not a fuck for ushers and past church members.
“Most of you are so far back, your lack of exposure worries you so much, you don’t even know what Art is when you see it.
“I have studied fashion internationally, breaking the boundaries of fashion and I am taking risks, you will never be able to understand me. I will always be true to what I love and will never do anything to please anyone but myself. If you expect that excuse you are preaching on my page from me you will wait forever, give your complaints to the blogs because if you come to my page I will give you your size, ”she said.
