Ghanaian actress Rosemond Alade Brown, known as Akuapem Poloo, was sentenced to three months in prison for posting nude photos online.
To recall that the actress shared a nude photo of herself with her son, to celebrate his seventh birthday on her social media hands in June 2020.
She was strongly criticized for the post but Ghana International Director of Children’s Rights Bright Appiah submitted a petition seeking her prosecution.
However, Poloo had apologized for the post, saying the photo was originally intended to inspire people to respect their mothers.
The case, however, was taken to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Ghana which led to the arrest of the actress.
Her responsibility was again for exposing obscene material, engaging in domestic violence and undermining human dignity.
The actress married in court Friday guilty and was convicted as a result.
The Circuit Court sitting in Accra, the capital of Ghana, on Friday ruled that the actress would serve her three-month term at the same time.
Her sentence is to be a deterrent to others in the country, the court said.
