Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD, has described the arrest of Mr Macaroni and End SARs activists as a disgrace.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that police staff sent to Lekki’s tax gate had arrested some protesters, including Nigerian Instagram comedian Debo Adebayo called Mr. Macaroni.
The complaint was initiated after the Lagos State Judicial Review Panel on the SARS End allowed Lekki Discount Company, LCC, to reopen the Lekki tax gateway.
The toll gate was closed following the October 2020 incident that led to the killing of some End SARS fighters.
RMD said in a post on its Instagram page on Saturday, that there is a big problem in Nigeria if the government does not recognize the right of citizens to protest in a democratic country.
Read his post: “I will not respect the police by reposting the video which is meant to dehumanise and trash @ mrmacaroni1 and other protesters, I would not.
“I do not point out the brutality of our society or the wrong priorities of this government. The shame of our country is too spoiled. ”
The actor while trying to stop bad rule in Nigeria warned that no matter how the government tries to justify action, you cannot ‘Outlaw peaceful activists’
“YOU CAN’T EXCEPT ANYTHING EXCEPT FOR ANYTHING !!!
“There is a reason it is a democracy and if you do not understand that reason, we have a big problem,” read his post.
