Nigerian Afro-beat singer David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has been criticized for banning protests in Abuja by the Federal Capital Security Committee, FCT, Security Committee.
The committee had banned all forms of street complaints about adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
A report by the committee said protesters had endangered the lives of the capital’s residents.
Opposing the ban, Davido criticized authors for allowing campaign rallies despite the COVID-19 crisis.
In a tweet, Davido wrote: “You can’t complain but you all had campaign rallies and recently made 2 choices !!! Do they think ?? Wtf I am ANGRY! ”
The protest against SARS in Abuja had turned sour when armed thugs attacked protesters.
The thugs had caused a riot on the protesters and their vehicles.
