Zendaya on how ‘Malcom & Marie’ was made
Zendaya has often been honest about how close she has gotten in touch with Sam Levinson, creator Euphoria. The pair remained in close contact even after season 2 of the show put on hiatus thanks to the coronavirus. When Zendaya mentioned to Levinson that she missed acting, he got a job writing her a new project that eventually became Calum & Marie.
“So we got the idea that we could safely make a quarantine film with a very small number of people,” Zendaya said in an interview with Elle. “We used some of the crew members from Euphoria who had definitely not got a job because the filming had stopped. I was fascinated by this idea of shooting a movie with just two characters. It was like a play. It was challenging for us all, as it was burned in just one place. It was great to be together in some ways, as it allowed us to get a workshop and dig into the material while we were there. ”

Even at the young age of 24, Zendaya has a lot of resumes. As well as being a successful actor she is also a singer, model and producer. Like, ‘Oh my gosh, am I really doing this? ‘”
