Pinkett’s mother described her daughter’s wedding as a ‘mess’
Pinkett and Smith knew they were in love when they got married in the 1990s, but their wedding night certainly didn’t start on a high note. Pinkett became pregnant with Smith’s baby about two years after they started dating, and pressure from her mother forced her to walk down the aisle, even though she never wanted to.
“It was a lie,” Pinkett’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones told a program of “Red Table Talk” back in 2018. “Jada was ill; she was very unpleasant. So I said, ‘Absolutely, maybe it’s something I should do.’ ”
