Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher had a wonderful relationship. Up until Fisher’s tragic death in 2016, the two continued to keep in touch, and over time developed a brother-sister-like relationship. But, at one point, Hamill had a bad influence on Fisher. But, as she enjoyed it, he would not have been able to handle it Star Wars co-star as lover. Keep reading to find out why.
Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were attracted to each other
Hamill reports in a 2016 interview with The Keeper that he and Fisher were “attracted to each other.” The only problem was that Hamill didn’t believe in going around his constellations. While in soap opera before Star Wars, he was in a bad relationship with one of his companions. Unfortunately, they ended up breaking up mid-season. This caused a terrible reaction to the set, and almost ruined his acting.
Another reason why Hamill and Fisher did not set a date was because Fisher was already in a relationship with their co-star, Harrison Ford. As Fisher appeared in her memoir with the title Princess Diarist, she fell hard for Ford.
Luckily for Hamill, he was completely lazy that a secret romance was going on between his constellations. Although the thought of their relationship makes him laugh now, he admits it would have had a negative effect at the time.
“I’m glad I didn’t know before, because it might have influenced me,” he told the Guardian. “By the time I found out, I thought it was very funny. But you know men – even if we don’t want to be friends, it’s only in our nature to mock for respect. ”
Mark Hamill said Carrie Fisher could not be treated like a lover because she was too tall to keep up
In 2017 panel dedicated to Fisher, Hamill spoke of his friendship with his co-star. He said part of it had fallen in love with Fisher and that he had “fallen under her spell.” But despite being so attractive to Fisher, he said it would be too difficult to keep up with him as a lover.
“Because of my attraction to her, I thought, ‘I couldn’t treat her like a lover,'” he told the panel. “It’s too much. This is what you call a high-maintenance relationship, ” he laughed.
But Hamill also seemed to feel like Fisher was too good for him. “It could make you feel like the most important person in the world,” he said. “I mean, if I had a relationship with her, it would be a full-time activity because she was too much for me in every sense: she was too creative, she was too clever. She was just as good. ”
Mark Hamill couldn’t stop thinking about Carrie Fisher after her death
After Fisher’s death, Hamill couldn’t take Fisher off his brain for years to come. And through the panel, he considered his grief.
“I’ll tell you when I go to sleep at night, there’s not a day so far where I haven’t thought about it,” he said. “And when I think about her … she’s looking down from the celestial stratosphere with those big brown eyes, that clever smile on her face as she happily extends her middle finger at me.
