Why did he not move his family to Boston
Prior to a COVID-19 positive test in early October, Newton entered Greg Hill’s presentation at WEEI for his weekly radio spot and revealed why he hasn’t moved his family to Boston since signing with the Pats on time.
“The whole decision, and not to continue with a dead horse, is a business trip for me,” Newton said. “Because I don’t have any of my children here in Boston with me and I haven’t been able to see them on a regular basis, that makes me angry. I wake up every morning missing the hell out of my kids, knowing that if I don’t do what I’m supposed to do, this could be good for me. That’s how bad I do it and that’s how bad it is. “
Newton did not go into too much detail about the potential of New England to be relevant in the long term but said, “My focus is so close to vision that I am trying to make things work, and if I’m looking for long-term results since there aren’t too many things to leverage, that’s not good. For me, I’m just looking at the opportunity that has been given to me, and it’s a good opportunity, I’ll tell you that, and I think people already know. It’s up to me how I finish what I started. ”
