Billy Crudup rejected Mary Louise Parker who was pregnant for Claire Danes

In 1996, Crudup and Parker began dating and made it look like they would be together forever.

In their years after the split, no actor spoke to the controversial breakup. But in 2015, Danes revealed what it was like to be another woman while appearing on Howard Stern’s radio show SiriusXM.

“I was just in love with him and I had to study that and I was 24,” she said said. “I did not know what the effect would be. “

Although she did not mention Crudup directly in the dozens of letters she wrote, The West Shield A star addressed her horrific breakup from the father of her child in the poetry essay entitled “Dear Mr. Cabdriver. ”

In the piece, Parker remembers an incident in which she was pregnant and driving around Manhattan with a cab driver who got lost on the way to her doctor’s career.

Pushing out, she began to swear at the driver, stopped and asked her to stop shouting. As she continued, the driver asked her to come out, telling her, “I don’t want you anymore. ”

The exchange then took an emotional turn when Parker replied, “No one does,” before assuring him, “My life is worse than yours at this time.

“I’m alone. Look, look? I’m pregnant and I’m alone. It hurts to even breathe,” she continued. “I’m trying to get through but I’m alone. every night and every morning and no one, nothing helps.I’m sorry I moved in. I can’t get my shoes on anymore. Look, I know I’m horrible, it was make it clear but please look at me. Look at me. ”

Despite her misfortune at the time, Parker still felt horrified about what she had done and apologized to the driver for the reminder.

“I don’t know what you were thinking, if you had a daughter or a wife or if my little drama depended on your life,” she writes. “What I wish I could tell you is that I know it probably was. I do not know what happened to you that morning, or that year, or when you were six. I was unaware of your tragedy or hardship and it was completely unfair for me to compare my life to yours. I am aware of my good fortune. What I don’t have to strive for is that my life is easier than most. I’ve thought about you and I know you wouldn’t remember me but I’m sorry. ”

She said, “I now realize that anything I walked through was part of my life, one piece of a bigger story that’s pretty much beautiful.”
