Tina Fey saved a man’s life

On the December 16 program of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Fey talked about how they stayed inside their New York City home during the lockout. He reached the point, she said, where their children never got outside.

He persuaded Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond to rent a house outside the city with a garden and a view of the Hudson River. Their first day there, something strange happened.

“The first morning we were there, I was standing outside… with my coffee, and I just heard something going on, ‘help,’” Fey recalled, asking, “Is that ‘help’ or a bird? … Is that someone saying, ‘Help’? ”

She called one of her daughters for a second opinion and when they couldn’t sort it out, her husband came in to listen. When they could not identify what exactly it was, they were worried that it might be someone who wanted help on the horizon, so they called the police.

“The cups take off and then we find out a couple of times later that it was a man who put a canoe in the Hudson and was sailing, without oars,” said Fey. “They found it a mile north of the river.”

“I saved someone’s life!” she said, “He doesn’t know it was us. ”

She did not like anyone choosing a kayak in the Hudson River, however. “Isn’t that crazy? Also, never kayak! Why? In the Hudson? That’s not like a stream. It’s like a rat toilet! ”She said.

Tina Fey made her first exciting trip during the pandemic

That wasn’t the only interesting thing that happened to Fey during the pandemic – she bought her first car! Fey joked about always relying on public transport so, although she has a driver’s license, she has never owned her own car.

Fey’s successful career is able to give her a luxury car, but she decided to keep it bare and basic – buying a white Subaru Forester.

“I got my first car during quarantine,” she said, adding that she wanted me to have a group. She decided that instead of her husband’s suggestion of a “fun car,” like a Mini Cooper, Jeep, or BMW, she went with a trusted Forester.

“No, I know what I want,” she said, pleased. “And it’s a white Subaru Forester. It’s so basic. ”

“I want a car that looks like a medical sneaker,” she said of her basic white car, which her 15-year-old daughter called “Karen’s car.” Fey ran by the name, saying, “I name her Karen … No one in the family finds it funny that I named the car. ”

In honor of Fey appearing in the new film Pixar Anam, she played a game with Fallon where they were going in after watching one second of a Pixar movie to see who could properly name the film.
