Joseph Maldonado-Passage, better known as Joe Exotic, made waves in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Netflix series King of Tiger it took the world by storm and exposed the dark underworld of big cat ownership in the United States.
As 2020 draws to a close, Maldonado-Passage supporters are looking to President Donald Trump and the new year to pardon the “Tiger King.”
Joe Exotic serves time to order a beat on Carole Baskin
Maldonado-Passage, owner of an alien animal park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 22 years in federal prison after his role in the 2017 murder-for-hire plot to animal rights activist Carole Baskin to kill. The allegations also highlighted Maldonado-Passage’s many violations of wildlife law.
Baskin, founder of Florida Big Cat Rescue, spoke openly about Maldonado-Passage and its mistreatment of big cats. For years, the two argued in public. Maldonado-Passage shared countless Facebook posts and YouTube videos threatening Baskin and his preservation.
Love has been in contact with Maldonado-Passage during his time in prison. He reportedly sent a letter to Maldonado-Passage which read:
I am a retired cop, a philanthropist in Fort Worth, and I am a private investigator. I can assemble a team of lawyers, and I think I have a good picture of getting you out of jail on presidential pardon.
Maldonado-Passage replied, writing: “Eric I really need your help. You will hear from my power lawyer. ”
Love hopes his efforts to help Maldonado-Passage pay off in the new year.

according to TMZ, Maldonado-Passage could be pardoned before Donald Trump officially resigns. The Maldonado-Passage legal team is expected to fly to Washington on January 6, 2021, for a “high-level meeting related to their pardon petition. ”
Love flies “Exotic 1” to the nation’s capital for next week’s Trump rally scheduled.
“The Exotic Express will fly across the country’s airspace asking President Trump to forgive an innocent man – Joe Exotic,” Love said in the TMZ video. “President Trump knows that Team Tiger will be on the ground in Washington, DC to support him on this historic day. ”
